The music maker, the watercolor painter,
The brother, the uncle, the son,
'Syd' Barrett,
has left this little world of ours.

Secret Machines, "Now Here Is Nowhere"
Summary from The Secret Machines website: “…Secret Machines play music that’s spatial, ambient, organic, ecstatic, hypnotic, and not a little bit psychedelic…Recorded at Stratosphere Sound, ‘Now Here Is Nowhere’ is both urban and interstellar, conjuring up everything from the screech of the subway to the hum of a distant satellite.”

October is Month!!

I'm not here to preach to the choir; we've all heard it before -- that breast cancer is the 2nd most common of all cancers; that every two minutes, a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer; and in 2005 alone, an estimated 40,000 women will die from the disease.
Most of you know that my Mom was taken by metastasized breast cancer on June 14, 2002, so the study and research support of this disease is super important to me. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I've posted some links below with important information about new studies, the hereditary theory, and the latest statistics, as well as things you can do to help protect yourself and your family.
Like I said earlier, we've all heard this before, but we're all going to continue to hear it until better medicine and a cure can be found. Don't roll your eyes. Please take just a minute to look over the sites below.
